Recap: Wedding Rehearsal (Nov 22nd)

Wow, it has been two full weeks now since I became Mrs. R. We just got back from our honeymoon. I am not sure either one of us is ready to head back to work. But we do have to come down from cloud 9!!!

I have not gotten the professional pictures back yet. Here are the ones from friends and family.

The wedding weekend was a 48 hours marathon. It started on Saturday morning with the ceremony rehearsal. Bright and early, the whole gang arrived at La Venta around 10:30 am or so. The whole gang includes everyone from my side of the family, Andrea, Jenn, Fran, Tom’s youngest sister Michele and her husband, Marsh, and the best man, Val. That was a total of 20 of us even though the actual wedding party was small.

My wedding party consists of only my Maid of Honor, Jenn; Best man, Val; and a fluctuation of 2-4 kiddies. It comes from the uncertainty of how well are the little ones going to be participating! The little ones are Caden (the ring bearer), Makayla, Ian, and Riley (the flower children). For certain, Caden and Ian would be fine since they are a bit older at 5. The other two are a bit more questionable!!!

Besides Tom and me, this is also the first time everyone gets to see the venue. Of course, it is impressive!!! I still feel very much luck out in finding this place for our special occasion. Quickly, I noticed my friends and family started shooting pictures of the surrounding and themselves. Then I showed them around a bit, pointing out the bridal suite, the groomsmen’s room, the ceremony site, the reception hall, the dance hall, etc.

Our coordinator, Sara gathered us around 11am, explained her role and the procession process. Marsh is our officiant. Then we started the rehearsal. Everyone was joyful, and the weather was California sunny. The most difficult part was to let go of the kiddies and see if they can walk down the isle (with stair steps) themselves without adult hand holding. We decided that Makayla is going to walk down with her brother, Caden. And Riley is going to be escorted down by Ian. In a pair, they seem to be more willing to participate. If you look at the pictures, you will also see that Riley decided to take his moo moo down the isle too. I didn’t know I might have a 5th participant in my wedding party!!!!

The rehearsal finished within the half hour we allocated. Quickly, everyone departed for our next event. For me and the ladies, it is the bridal shower back in Irvine. For Tom and his best man, it is time to get Val fit up on his tux. Val is coming in from out of state, so the final fitting is done on Saturday. We certainly planned to the last minutes.
