This was our last day here. Tom and I went to Indian Beach a few days ago, but I wanted to bring the Chows there for the starfishes. There are many many more here than Haystack Rock. We couldn’t go yesterday after the ECOLA Point as the tide was starting to come in. Besides, it is a much shorter walk to the tide pools here. From the park entrance, it took us about 10 minutes through mature rainforest to get there. We even saw an elk or two on our way in, very cool.
A few Hollywood movies had been filmed here before, most recent one is the La Push scenes in "Twilight". You can see the list here.
I found a few sand dollars the first time I walked through the beach here. So I planned to find some for Caden this time. This somewhat kept him away from the water and start to look around as we walked toward the rocky area. I think he really wanted to get wet. Eventually he did by trying to run back and forth to the waves.
Makayla on the other hand, decided to tag along with her Uncle Tom. It’s really fun seeing her following him around from one tide pool to another, one end of the beach to another, here and there, like little puppy…
Once Tom started to try skip rocking, the kids followed too. They have no idea how, but basically just finding stones to throw. Then they thought the bigger the better…..
Anyway, it was a really fun outing. And the star fishes are amazing here. This concludes our weeklong vacation and time to get back to the real world! But we will be back someday.
