Easter Brunch at Sherman Library & Garden

This year for Easter, Brenda and Chris took the kiddies to Las Vegas for the weekend (also spring break for Caden). And since Tom continued with his Masters Golf Tournament on Sunday (Easter is not a big thing for him, at least compare to the Masters), that left mom and me to do brunch this year, which is fine with me, having a bit of one-on-one with mom.

I didn’t want to just eat and dash since there are only two of us. I decided to have brunch at Sherman Library & Garden. It is a charming little garden in Corona del Mar. After living in the area for the past 8 years, neither mom nor I ever had a chance to check out this place before. We can practically walk there from mom’s apartment!

The special brunch menu for Easter at the Cafe Jardin included four courses. Both mom and I didn’t choose to have any champagne. The unlimited freshly squeezed orange juice was tasty enough for the girls. Even though the portion of each course was relatively small, we filled up by the end of the 4th course. The setting is very very lovely. The entrance fee to get through the garden to enter the restaurant is well worth for the nice maintenance job they did for the place. I didn’t have the heart to argue with this little old lady (most likely a volunteer) about paying to get in so we can pay more to eat there??? Didn’t make any business sense to me, but if you think of it as donation for the garden maintenance, all is well.

Again, I took tons of pictures; too many to fill up the page here. Here are a few with actual people in it! I would say, highly recommended for special occasion. What a lovely place and with history too.
