Our Deck

We have a wooden deck, accessible both from the living room and dining room area via 3 sets of French doors. If you opened all of them, it is definitely breezy and truly indoor/outdoor living. This is one of the main reason we love this place. From the living and dining room, you can have a bit of ocean view. From the deck, if our neighbors are cooperating (like trimming their trees), then it is pretty decent view (yeap, we are working on that front. In fact, this is Tom’s project…)

For the deck, Tom and I debated what outdoor furniture we should place here. Tom wants a dining set; I prefer a sofa lounging set. I figure the dining room is just there, why do we need another outdoor dining area? Since most of the time, being outdoor is like lounging around rather than actually sitting down to eat, it is more versatile to have a sofa sitting area.

After leaving that decision up in the air for a few weeks, Tom finally said let’s do something before the summer is over!!! Haha, I got to pick whatever I want, of course, with “input” from him. So we ordered a set from Costco. We tried to get this in before July 4th weekend so we can watch the Redondo Beach fireworks from our own deck this year!!! We barely made it; it was delivered on July 3rd….talking about down to the last minute….
