The "Taste of Spain" class is at PREP Kitchen Essentials in Seal Beach, in a nice outdoor mall area. The store is well lighted and airy, very good. I have never made paella myself, so a bit of supervision would be good on my first attempt. There were more couples than I expected, Tom wasn't the lone male there...
He actually did very well participating in chopping etc. I wonder if it were the "public" eyes concept. At home, he leaves the entire kitchen to me. For example, he only knows a few spot, like where the microwave is, where the Tupperware are, forks and spoons, and his smoothies blender. It only took him like two months to find the dishes, making one small step each day....
The menu were:
- Paella al Valenciana
- Spanish Style Garlic Shrimp
- Tomato Toast with Manchego and Spanish Ham
- Fried potatoes with Allioli and Spicy Brava Sauce, Allioli a la Catalana
- Roasted Eggplant with Romesco Sauce
- Sausage with Sweetpeas and Mint
