Happy Hour Week in OC

The restaurant scene is so slow due to the economy; I think that is why everyone is doing different promotions trying to get some traffic!!! This week is Happy Hour Week in OC. I don’t recall this type of event was held in previous years. Basically, it is specially priced drinks, snacks, and sometimes prefix lunch and dinner menu too.

Tom has been working in OC this entire week, so he was able to join us for a week night out. We picked 21 Oceanfront in Newport Beach. I have never been here before. They had a good list of half priced appetizers and house drinks. Since this is somewhat an adult night out, Chris stayed home with the kiddies. We had Dennis, mom, Brenda, Tom, and me.

Not sure if it is because of a Wednesday night or what, but even with the better priced drinks and food, the place didn’t seem packed at all, at least not at the bar. The service is good. We noticed at other locations too, now when we dine out, the service is better than when the economy was good. Perhaps people realize they actually have to do a good job to get a good tip??? The food here was good, but the kitchen was very slow in delivering the food.
