The Rocks, The Falls, & the GoofIES - Part 1

The Water
This is my very first time visiting the Yosemite, and what a great time of the year to do so. It certainly blew me away, not really know what expectations I may or may not have. Tom and I were guests of Michele and Marsh (Tom’s youngest sister & brother-in-law) at their timeshare in Bass Lake, just outside the doorsteps of the Yosemite south entrance. We spent a long weekend playing, hiking, eating, and story telling…and I learn a few things about my hubby.

We started off on Friday early afternoon with a short hike up to the Chilnualna Falls. The weather was not perfect; it was overcast and had a touch of drizzling in the air. The uphill walk warmed us up fast. Besides couple deer we saw, we were the only ones on the dirt path. Of course, Michele was saying "you should put your nose up the crack to smell it"....she was explaining about the redwood…but you can add on your own interpretation, as we did…and got a good laugh out of it.

As we got closer, we can hear the thunder from the forceful water. Even Michele was surprised by the amount of water plunging down the rocks. We were momentary quiet by the awe of our first waterfall sighting for the weekend.

Here are some selections from the outing. Click on each picture to see a bigger view.
