My Miniature Dutch Houses

Each time I take a business class flight on KLM, they give away one of these collectable houses to their business class customers. I have 5 so far. I am really looking forward to adding more on this trip. There are a total of 89 houses as of 2009. The last one was released in October 2008. Each house is bottled with Dutch Genever, a 35% alcohol, and sealed on top (at the chimney).

Most of the 89 houses are identified here. The five I have are (from left to right):

#7 - Amsterdam, Unidentified house
#79 – Schiedam, This Schiedam-typical building was home to Distillery Melchers
#75 - The Hague, Hofweg 9-11, former KLM Headquarters Built in 1914
#20 - Edam, Damplein 8, the Edam Museum Built in 1550, restored in 1895
#36 - Delft, Hippolytusbuurt 8, built in the mid-17th century, rebuilt in 1948

My latest addition is #13.

#13 - Amsersfoort, Kamp 10 D'Gekroonde Bye-korf, The Crowned Beehive built in 1687 (will post picture later.)

I didn’t realize my return flight is code shared between NWA and KLM, but operated by NWA, so no houses….oh well, I will be more careful next time when I book my flight!
