Dare to Dream...

I am in love with the Sunset magazine at the moment. I have only discovered it recently. So now, I waited patiently for it to show up in my mailbox every month. The magazine has many goodies and great discoveries about the west coast of the US. It mainly concentrates on Washington, Oregon, and California. It is definitely getting me more inducted into the lifestyle out here. Oh, so many inspiration, so little time.

In this issue, there is an article on great ways to fulfill travel fantasies. The magazine version starts with the following. I am so surprised with how many actually fit me!!! May be these are the common desires of all people!

Someday, I want to…(description), for now (instant ramification)

My version is…..

  • Own a cabin on the water (So yes, I want a beach cottage so badly!!! May have to compromised with a lake cabin…)
  • Go to cooking school in Provence (Nice vacation trip, not sure if I really want to do too much more schooling, even with a subject I beloved.)
  • Fly a plane (Oh, this was on my to-do list some while back, until I find out how much time and effort it would take. But it is slowly revived in the back of my brains as I visit the Washington area / San Juan Islands area more and more. There are tons of people fly their plane up there between islands and the mainland!!!)
  • Climb Mt. Everest (Ok, I didn’t climb and have no inclination to do so. I think getting to base camp counted – check this off the list)
  • Move to Mexico (No for now, of course, unless it meets #1 up there with the beach cottage)
  • Garden like an ace (let’s hire someone)
  • Live in a treehouse (too small for real living, what am I to do with all the cross stitch and scrapbook stuffs?)
  • Be a beach bum (So easily done being in SoCA – check this off the list.)
  • Sail around the world (I need a bit of modification here. It wouldn’t be a yacht, but more like a really huge and stable cruise line. Still it probably needs to be broken down into segments. I just don’t think my sea legs would get better as I get wiser in my old age.)
  • Retire to Tuscany and drink wine. (Oh, forget about Tuscany, go to Australia is my version. They have great wines and plenty of open space. Plus I don’t need to learn a new language!)

I am telling you. This is a perfect subject for a scrapbook mini album. I am so putting this on the perpetual list.

So what is your list of Dare to Dream???
