Shoes, what shoes?

Who would imagine one of the most difficult tasks in this wedding planning would involve a pair of shoes. But it is!!! I already have a hard time to shop for non wedding related shoes. Now, with the additional requirements, GOSH, think of this scenario:

  • I have small feet even though it is proportional for me. I probably fall in the narrow category too.
  • They don’t make pretty shoes in my size (4.5-5).
  • The fiancé is a whole foot taller than the fiancée.
  • I have to find shoes in white, cream, neutral color…they don’t make pretty neutral color shoes in my size. Repeat this a few more times.
  • I am not willing to sink a few hundreds $$ on one pair of shoes.

Ok, enough whining. The only pair I found that may somewhat fit a bridal shoe category is this one. It is sexy, it is silver, it is reasonably priced, and it is in my size without the need for extra padding!!! I so want something with a platform heel, but I just have to do with this one. Fortunately, there is a walk path to the gazebo; I won’t be walking up to Tom in grass. Otherwise, I am not sure how those stilettos heels would work. I may need to make up some kind of Chinese legend/ritual that the groom has to carry the bride up to the alter or something…

Of course, I will bring my spare platform sandal for those certainly needed rescue feet!!!

And I have 3 weeks to practice wearing it in the evening doing housework and remaining stationary for the wedding (like wedding program, menu, place cards…). It is more comfortable than its look. Crazy just thinking about what I have to do to get ready for the Big Day. And what does Tom have to do? Good question. One word answer, “Minimal”.
