Wedding Music

Selecting music for the wedding is really not an attribute I can claim to possess adequately. I am so grateful for the internet in many ways and this is one of them.

I googled & googled. Thank goodness for all those great suggestion and Youtube where I can at least listen to samples of the songs. I cannot imagine how I would plan this wedding if I were to marry 10+ years ago (in the age without easy internet connection). Of course, I love wedding music, and there are so many great ones out there. But we only have a limited time. The actual ceremony is only going to be 20-30 minutes maximum. Both Tom and I do not want a dragged out session.

After some thinking, I picked these out. Of course, Tom has no objection at all. I start to think this whole wedding business is really what the brides want and has nothing to do with the grooms.

Attendants Processional……………….Canon in D Major (Pachelbel)
Bridal Processional………………………Bridal Chorus (Wagner)
Unity Ceremony………………………….Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring (Bach)
Recessional…………………………………The Wedding March (Mendelssohn)

*Link is to YouTube for sample only.

Are they lovely, just listening to them already gets me in the right mood….

As for the first dance, I am going to keep this as a surprise. Tom actually picked this one out. And I think it is thoughtful and romantic. Deep down, this guy is much more romantic and sensitive than face value. Luck out on that part, I certainly did.
