Wow, there are a lot of magazines didn't make the cut these days. As I am purging the house (part of packing and moving process), I tried to save the articles I like from my huge stash of old magazines. And if I can find the article online, then I can just keep the electronic version and trash the hardcopy. Real estate is a premium in SoCal.
I think the hubby would call this busy work...not for me. I keep them for ideas. So many interests, so many great ideas, and so little brain space and physical space. These are the ones I subscribed/purchased before and no longer in business in the last few months:
Domino
Hallmark Magazine
BBC Good Homes
Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion
And once the magazine ceases publication, you cannot find the articles online anymore. So it is even more important to save them!!!
I did add couple new ones to my radar. Jamie. This is by the UK Chef, Jamie Oliver. I like his TV shows on the Food Network. I find his recipes are down to earth yet refreshing. I came across Issue #3 when I was in Amsterdam airport catching a flight home. It's first time I saw it. I found Issue #1 posted online here if you are interested. Click on the page to preview it.
Issue #2:
The other ones are by Stampington & Company. They have a great line of offerings. I love the Sommerset Studio, Sommerset Memories, and Sommerset Homes.
I have to say these few ones are higher in quality of contents and printing, their pricing also reflects it. So no subscription at the moment, just tracking it and get only the particular issue I really like. And I have been good not to renew any that I don't ABSOLUTELY LOVE!!! Actually I have been doing pretty good the last two years. I only have 3 active ones now...oops, maybe it is action like mine that the magazines are going out of business. Competition is high. So with only limited budget, one has to downsize in every way...
