Housewarming Party

We had our official House Warming party on Saturday. We invited mostly Tom’s coworkers and a few of my local friends. In addition, we had invitations out to a few neighbors. Tom strategically selected them, yes, those who have trees blocking our views!!!!

Surprisingly, two neighbors came by, and two more showed up the following week, dropping off a bottle of wine at our front door. Wow, we felt very welcome. How many do that these days???

As you can see from my previous posts, I spent lots of time getting the house ready for companies. On the Friday before the party, I finally told Tom that I was tired and just planned on buying pre-made stuffs so I didn’t have to cook. He quickly told me to assign him tasks as he would rather I spent time cooking and prepping, as the pre-made stuffs were just not up to his trained standard anymore….figure…..Nevertheless, I cheated with an easy antipasto plate.

Here was what I prepared:
  • Chips, Home-made Mango salsa, & Guacamole
  • Antipasto Plate consisted of:
Four different kinds of Charcuterie (Peppered Salami, Dry Genoa Salami, Rosa Salame Framani, Soppresata)
Artisan Cheese Plate with Nuts & Dried Fruits (great selection at Whole Food)
Grilled Balsamic Vinaigrette Marinated Veggies
Miniature Caprice Salad Skewer
Marinated Olives And Pickles
  • Garlic and Herb Prawn Skewers
  • Slow Roasted BBQ Pork Ribs
  • Grill Bacon Wrapped Salmon Kabob
My friend, Jina, brought a miniature dessert plate, full of éclair, cream puffs, cakes, baklavas, etc. And we had tons of alcohols, wine, beer, and non alcohol drinks. Tom prepped that part; he was way over stocked for sure.

The turn out was good, I believed everyone had a good time. Now that I moved to LA County, it was much more difficult for my OC friends to come up this way. Oh, well, it was still a great party in my definition….to the point where I forgot to take pictures of the guests and the rest of the hot food!!!
