Spring Trimming

Our three citrus trees (lime, lemon, orange) were so overgrown and full of fruits. I don't know when is lemon season, but we certainly had tree full of them. If we didn't prune it back, I was afraid the branches would break off!!!

The hubby claims he has a green thumb. He might be so...but he was also a procrastinator. But after we saw the estimates our gardening company provided to cut back these trees, he was ready to work. Of course, I would need to assist by picking tons of them off the ground and the cut branches. We probably had 100 lbs of these babies.

I had plenty of lemonades. I even attempted to make preserved lemons. I didn't want to do the lemon curd, it was one of those that required some canning experiences. And my sterilizing skill was not good, as evidence with the moles growing on the preserved lemons days later....went into the trash after all....until next year, I might give it a try again.
