Repurpose: Thank You cards & Christmas cards

Tom is away with his coworkers to Vegas on a biking outing, some kind of team building/bonding event. This leaves me with couple days of wedding aftermath/holiday catching up this weekend.

I manage to send out most of the thank you cards for the wedding and bridal gifts we received. I had a bunch of left over wedding programs, so I “repurposed” them into thank you card. They look pretty good. And it was easy to dissemble and reassemble them since all the embellishments were already in place. All I did was to resize the wedding program to a smaller card, replace the circular die cut with the rub-on word “thank you”, and retied the bow into a knot. I started handwriting the blank cards when we were in Oahu. Tom was watching the surfing, I was trying to catch them on camera; after a while, and I began the writing. Then I got bored with writing, the penmanship got sloppy. So, I just typed them up and printed them out!!!

I used the leftover paper cardstock for this year’s Christmas card. I love this cardstock and I spent some good $$ on it to begin with, so why waste them? It is a simple design. I used a “Happy Holidays” ribbon, stamped a design quote block, and put a beautiful teal color bling on it. I wouldn’t mind if I were receiving that as a Christmas card!!! It is not all done yet, some has gone out with the thank you card mailing. The rest will be next week.

I also did some Christmas shopping. So besides putting away the wedding gifts, I packed up a pile of boxes to be sent out. Thank goodness for the automated postage center, I mailed about 6 packages out today. There are a few more to do. It just has to wait until next week. I am tired!!!

Oh, my brother helped me to get the noble fir Christmas tree home from Target. We put it into the tree stand. I filled it with water. It is bare right now. But it is already Sunday night, I need a break!!!! I will have to wait for Tom to help me decorate. My brother asked me why I bother to do this, since it is only a little over a week to Christmas. Well, I am going to have a Christmas dinner at home again this year, what would Christmas dinner be like without a Christmas tree??? Oh, it has to be done…
