First Design on the Wedding Invitation

I was in Minneapolis visiting family and also attending the annual Scrapfest hosted by Archiver’s at the Mall of America. I wasn’t planning to go initially until I found out I needed to be in Chicago the following week. So I ended up taking a flight on Friday to Chicago with a brief stop-over for the weekend.

As usual, it was very crowded. The design on the make n’ take is not as “elaborate” as the past. Perhaps even the manufactures are downsizing on their giveaway. This year, I only scheduled one creative workshop per day; mainly due to the last minute registration after most of the popular workshops are already sold out.

I still had tons of fun. I think this is the only time I do any fun activities with Vanessa anymore. We live far apart and she has been busy raising her two kiddies. Anyway, one of my objectives is to figure out the wedding invitation while I am up there. Why not, when I look through those standard invitations from the print shops and stores, my reaction was “hmmm, eerrr, ….” not much creativity there, very blank, typical, and just as expensive. Since my guest list is ~50 people in total, including the wedding party and family, I wasn’t going to get the volume discount anyway.

Here is the current design, not sure if this is the final one. One of the difficult choices is the color theme selection. I will need to wait until I speak to the florist first, which is now scheduled for late September.

Until then, this is what it looks like right now.
