Couldn’t you tell by now, I love Halloween!!! I also love the change of season. Last week, I dragged Tom to go pick out a pumpkin for the front porch (the California version of a front porch, stick with me on that definition for now).
We went to a local farm (Tanaka). You would think the pumpkins actually grow there until you see all the boxes they brought in to setup the huge pumpkin field for kids and adults. Of course, after looking at the prices, I understand why they don’t mind hauling them in. It is double of one would pay to get it from the grocery store. But we had fun browsing and Tom tried to lift this giant pumpkin. Yes, this pumpkin is bigger than the fiancé. Wow, pretty amazing for a local farm.
On Halloween night, I am prepared this time. The media has been reporting that the population has spent more this year for Halloween than last year even during this economy downturn. I bought 3 bags of candies. Of course, I chose the ones I would love to eat, just in case I have lots of left over. I didn’t. I probably had between 30-40 kids showing up at the door; 95% of them dressed up. They are so cute. Some of them are aggressive, after seeing what I passed out (Kit Kat, Crunch, & Reese), they ask for more than one, or even double back. Greedy little ones…
The really fun surprise is when Caden and Makayla came for a brief visit. They are so adorable. I got a snapshot with them. So worth it!!!
