Craft Room

Officially, this is now my craft room. It began as a 4th bedroom.

Tom had the idea to use it as his “studio” and he would jam in there with his friends. At least that was the thought when he got first choice to pick the room while I was deciding on paint color. That is why I chose a chocolate brown "Cobblestone Path (DE6068)" so I could style it mid century modern, intended to be a bit Hollywood glam….

And I would use half of the family room as my craft corner.

Well, after one single jamming session, when I was away on business and the room was still blank and empty, he declared “He wasn’t inspired in the room!” He wanted to “share” the family room with me. He didn’t want the 4th bedroom as his studio any more….

What was a girl to do? Especially when I already unpacked most of my craft stash in the family room.

During July 4th weekend, when I had a few more male relatives around to lend a hand, we moved the stash and the old Ikea bookcases from the family room to here. I converted the closet as more stash organizers. I reorganized all the crafty stuffs one more time after having Tom put in two more shelves. I moved Tom’s old small dining set down here as my crafting table, and hung a piece of Missoni look alike fabric my girlfriend, Sandra, and I found 4+ years ago, as the new window treatment. I only did it on one side; figure I wouldn’t need privacy here as it was intended as a guest room anyway. The color of the window treatment fabric pops against the painted wall.

I am not completely done in here yet. I plan on adding some wall arts here eventually once I have a breather!!! And some new lamp shades too….I still have a decent list of touch up and loose end stuffs to do here and there around the house.
